The Ukrainian unit Posipaky, specialized in drone interception, shot down two advanced Russian Shahed-type models. The feat was reported by volunteer Serhii Sternenko, who also shared footage of one of the actions.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, these drones can be used both for reconnaissance and as decoys, with the function of detecting and overwhelming enemy air defenses. There are also reports that they can carry warheads weighing up to 15 kilograms.
With a delta wing-shaped fuselage, similar to the Shahed-136 but smaller in size, the drones rely heavily on Chinese components. Almost half of the parts, including flight controllers, navigation modules, antennas, and sensors, are supplied by CUAV Technology, a company specialized in UAV system development.
They also feature a Chinese data transmission module inspired by the Australian RFD900x model, capable of operating up to 40 kilometers, facilitating communication between aircraft and ground stations.
The equipment also uses a Chinese-made engine and an electronic ignition module DLE-60. Recently, the Sino-Russian partnership PGI Technology introduced a kevlar-reinforced fiber optic cable, strengthening technological collaboration between the two countries in the defense sector.
